Update on the future of Word Alive

9 June 2020

We are delighted to tell you that thanks to the generous donations we’ve received, Word Alive can continue with confidence in planning future events. We are very grateful to God for your generosity and how it has enabled us to look to the future.

Plans for next year

We are therefore planning Word Alive to take place from 6–11 April 2021 at Prestatyn. We are planning to offer much of the programme we had planned for this year, including Bible Readings in Proverbs from David Cook.

At the same time, it is difficult to be certain what life will look like next year, and so what shape Word Alive will have to take. Given that, we don’t plan to open bookings until we have more clarity on what will be deemed safe in terms of large gatherings. Bookings won’t open until we have a high-level of confidence that we will be able to go ahead. This will likely be in the autumn; we will let you know as things unfold.

Meanwhile, don’t forget you can continue to hear old Word Alive talks each week on our YouTube channel.

Word Alive office staff

Given that we cannot begin the real work of planning Word Alive 2021, the trustees have placed our office staff on furlough from 10 June until 6 July under the Government’s Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme. If you have tried to email us, we won’t be able to respond yet but will do so as soon as possible.

We would be very grateful for your prayers as we seek to plan in these changeable times. The Lord knows the future and we trust he has good plans in store for us.
